WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO [2010]

NLI exists to empower a new generation of leaders to equip, transform and expand the Church throughout Europe.  We do that through systematic Leadership Development, strategic Church Planting and the mobilization of Short Term Mission teams. 

Women’s Development is coming of age and beginning to make a significant contribution helping develop women leaders in both the church and marketplace for Kingdom purposes.  Momentum is picking up as nations in Central, Baltic, Eastern and Mediterranean nations of Europe open their doors to EMERGE, our premier leadership conference for women.  Partner churches in North America are also reaping the benefit of raising up their women leaders by sponsoring conferences in their cities.  It also opens for them the door of opportunity to engage members of their congregation in mission in Europe.

PAST TO PRESENT

In 2004 Women’s Development was added as a specialized area of focus to the existing Leadership Development training to advance the strategic development of women leaders.  WD models and utilizes the unique giftedness of women leaders – “leaders encouraging leaders.” 

In 2008 NLI gave birth to the EMERGE leadership conferences for women.  Its prophetic message is, “ Come out of the Shadows.”  The conference objectives are:  to gather, equip and release to purpose.  They do not replace the current training modules offered by NLI but compliment them, bringing strategic focus to the unique issues of women leaders.

THE PROCESS

One tool used is regional & national leadership training conferences using a three-phase process. 

 - EMERGE I is designed to be inspirational and motivational regional [meaning multi-national] catalyst event
    (we do, they watch)

 - EMERGE II focuses on the influence women have and is a nation specific catalyst event (we do, they assist)
  -
EMERGE III focuses on the leader’s personal life and is a nation specific catalyst event (we assist, they do)

This process is designed to launch indigenous, sustainable leadership training for women.  With a heavy emphasis on coaching, our goal is that strong capable leaders will be in place to continue the work of developing women for Kingdom work across the nations of Europe.  We also work to bring:

  • - Affirmation and encouragement to the God given gifts and call on women
  • - Challenge to "come out of the shadows" into whatever God's "next level" is for them
  • - Good listening, and give voice to their dreams,stories and passions
  • - Hope and healing to the broken and discouraged
  • - Emphasis to the great spiritual need in Europe and their responsibility to impact their nations with
      the message of Christ through church, media, education, politics, business, fashion, the arts etc
Other tools being developed are fresh, relevent curriculum, readily available resources includeing interactive chat rooms with mentors/coaches doing Question & Answer live sessions, interviews with remarkable women doing amazing things for God around the world, leadership arcticles etc.

WHAT’S NEXT?

In 2010 we will introduce EMERGENCE.  It is a forerunner level conference for those churches, cities or nations interested in hosting an EMERGE conference but still exploring what it’s all about.  Our first one will be hosted in New York City in May.  Can’t wait!  Other locations in dialog for EMERGENCE are Vancouver and southern Romania.

  • - South Bend, Indiana, USA - March 12-13
  • - Tallin, Estonia - September 24-26
  • - Malonovice, Czech Republic - October 22-23
  • - Slovakia - October 29-30

Our dreams include:

  • - The systematic development of one-million women leaders across the nations of Europe by:
    1. 1. Gathering – EMERGE, Organix, ALTC & Primary Leader conferences
    2. 2. Equipping – Providing fundamental and Biblical based training for women leaders with emphasis on
           their position in Christ, their value and purpose in the Kingdom and their significance at this time
           in history.
    3. 3. Releasing to Purpose – Educating and bringing focus to both needs as well as opportunities in Europe
  • - Easily accessible leadership resource of fresh, relevant curriculum and tools
  • - Reproduction and recruitment of WD staff, WD trainers and ministry partners.  This is necessary going forward
       to manage the workload, administration and resource raising involved in reaching future goals
  • - Delegate scholarships [approximately $150 per delegate per conference]
  • - Funding for training events:  EMERGE and EMERGENCE
  • - Provision for administration and equipment costs
