In January 2010 Ian Green was invited by the No Boundaries Churches to take part in a ten-year celebration of Church Planting the the Czech Republic. For the past five years Ian has discussed and vision-cast with Stanislav Bubic about how church planting is a strategic way of reaching the nation. Up until this point, the movement had focused on tent crusades and evangelism as their predominant strategy for reaching the nation. After years of discussion and dreaming together, it was finally decided that No Boundaries Churches would move ahead in mid 1998, after a church planting conference in Budapest, Hungary. The first wave of churches were planted around the regional capital in Chumotov in the Western part of the nation. Initially a mother-daughter strategy was implemented; with one mother church and eleven other groups planted that were connected to the central church. The results have been amazing. The church in Chumotov is the largest church in the No Boundaries Church movement. The Prague congregation, which was started just seven years ago in 2003, is now the fastest growing church in The Apostolic Church of Czech Republic. On the Friday evening of the celebration, there was a time of relaxation, excellent food and celebration with key individuals that were significant financial-givers to this amazing church planting project. Stanislav expressed his appreciation and gave those who gathered an opportunity to continue in the vision. Saturday saw an all-day prayer meeting with more than 40% of all the members of the churches attending. There were well over 300 Czech nationals and foreigners joining in prayer, intercession and spiritual warfare to see the church advance. This is particularly significant and important because 95% of Czechs claim to be atheists. The Sunday services at the Prague church saw an outpouring of joy expressed as worship which was led by four anointed and professional musicians. The people were led into deep gratitude and appreciation for all that God had done in and through the lives of those gathered. We are truly grateful to God for all that He has done in the Czech Republic. We are humbled by how he has used us but realize that this is not the end of reaching the Czech Republic. His work and plan for this nation is just beginning. It can only get better. |
