Radicals needed
Europe needs you! Yes you! Nations like Crimea, Albania, Romania and Moldova are crying out for someone to show they care, for someone who will love them, for someone who will bring them the Good News. But put away any idea these trips will be handing out tracts or doing mimes in the park. These nations need people willing to get their hands dirty, people willing to let their actions speak louder than their words. They need prayer warriors, they need someone humble enough to… Read more
An intern’s view of Romania
It was humbling to be hosted by the Umut Church in the small village of Mangalia, Romania. The word Umut, means “Hope” in Turkish which is an appropriate name for the small Christian church. Found in the heart of a densely populated Turkish and Islamic neighbourhood in a place where most Muslim families would denounce a family member for attending their church and many openly express their disapproval of the Mustafa family (who planted the church) they continue their good work.
Originally the idea of one man, Fardin Mustafa began the church in the small upstairs room of his own house … Read more
Church planters, blizzards and all those things
In the early morning of January 26, 2012, a team of 4 from NLI travelled to the airport ready to train church planters in Constanta, Romania. When they got to the airport they were greeted with an 8 hour delay due to a blizzard that was sweeping across Romania. Eventually they got on a plane. Mangalia Romania: While out in the Turkish ghetto evangelizing a pastor asks a man about needs in his life. The man’s reply; “I need someone to tile my bathroom.” The pastor’s response … Read more
Special Prayer Request
Please join us in prayer for Pastor Dorel and the Christian community he leads in Mangalia Romania. As you’ll see in the attached video, their church building was recently destroyed by fire. Dorel has been a church plant partner with NLI and an integral part of our work in this region of Romania. Your prayers for him, the congregation, and the restoration process are greatly needed.Thank you.
Transformer Man
In a city just outside Constanta Romania lives a man of Turkish Muslim upbringing. As he reached his early 20′s he began looking deeper into his beliefs. He yearned to know the Truth. He studied books on Islam and on Christianity. The more he studied the more he found Christ to be the only real Answer. In spite of the hardship that would follow, he became a Follower of Christ. Considered an outcast by his community and shunned by his family, he held fast to his convictions.
How does he repay his family and neighbours for the years of insults and verbal abuse? Read more
