Fardin's Church

An intern’s view of Romania

It was humbling to be hosted by the Umut Church in the small village of Mangalia, Romania.  The word Umut, means “Hope” in Turkish which is an appropriate name for the small Christian church.  Found in the heart of a densely populated Turkish and Islamic neighbourhood in a place where most Muslim families would denounce a family member for attending their church and many openly express their disapproval of the Mustafa family (who planted the church) they continue their good work.

Special Prayer Request

Please join us in prayer for Pastor Dorel and the Christian community he leads in Mangalia Romania. As you’ll see in the attached video, their church building was recently destroyed by fire. Dorel has been a church plant partner with NLI and an integral part of our work in this region of Romania. Your prayers for him, the congregation, and the restoration process are greatly needed.Thank you.

This very diverse group spent 3 days together as part of an NLI Organix Conference. Hosted by long-term friends and partners Traycho and Ena Stefanov, the conference was a success on so many levels.
